Hi I am an experienced dentist. That’s the way I would like to call myself.😊.. so I wanted to share my story of how I almost quit dentistry. So I had joined as junior dentist in a well-known dental practice in my locality. It had been already 2 years since I was working in that clinic. In those days we were not allowed to do much in the clinic. May be do an OPD or a scaling. So I was really confident with my scaling procedure atleast. Haha. So one day I finished doing scaling for the patient gave him instructions , on his way out he went to my senior (boss) and told her don’t ask your interns to do dental treatments . Oh how that broke my hernia because I had given my hundred percent. And I did a pretty good job . But that statement broke my heart. I went to my boss told her I am quiting dentistry. Her immediate response was "NOWAY" you are not even thinking like this!! that was his view because he was not looking at your work. He was judging you by your looks . I looked tiny those day!!:) she said he is just one .. what you need to remember is the 10 others who spoke good about your work!! These were her words that didn't let me quit and now it’s been 15 years and I am running a successful dental practice. This incident made me realise how important words are!!! And that’s why here I am writing my story. Even if one of you decide not to quit . I know I have made a difference.
